Satanism is a belief, philosophy, or religion that glorifies Satan and/or his symbols and strives to live according to his rules. The term "Satanism" is, in fact, a blanket term. It does not refer to a single belief; rather, it encompasses multiple beliefs under one umbrella. I could have referred to them as sects, but that would be inadequate and incorrect. In a sect, there are gods, the rules of these gods, their structures, and the rituals and services that align with them. However, in Satanism, the meaning of Satan differs across its various branches. Some believe in Him symbolically, some see Him as a god, and others do not view Him as a god or symbol, but simply as a leader. In this case, there is no single perspective to say "this is Satanism." This is similar to Paganism. Paganism is not a single belief but a collection of beliefs. Therefore, just as there cannot be a "sect of Paganism," it is also absurd to speak of a "sect of Satanism." As I mentioned, there is no unified system; each system has merely adopted a form of Satan, and all beliefs and philosophical views that align with this are grouped together under the name "Satanism." First and foremost, this must be understood.

THE DEVIL

Satan is, in fact, one of the most indispensable elements that the world has ever known throughout history. Some have used him to house armies under their protection, some have used him to elevate their business, and others have accepted him as a symbolic leader to advance in the path of self-glorification. A world without Satan is impossible, unthinkable, and unfeasible. Instantly, all religions would collapse, and every scientific development and form of art would cease. Yes... there would be no science or art either, because He is the figure who holds science, art, and philosophy in His hands. When Abrahamic religions are closely examined, any form of art, philosophy, and even music that is unrelated to them is considered sinful. For these religions, art, music, and philosophy should only be used in the service of religion.

So, who or what is this Satan really? Let's examine that...

Although it is believed that Satan has existed simultaneously with the history of Abrahamic religions, this is incorrect. The existence of Satan actually stems from ancient beliefs. It is present in Sumerian Paganism, Shamanism, Scandinavian Paganism, and more... In all of them, Satan exists, albeit as a god. For example, in Tengriism. In Tengriism, there was never a single god. There is only one primary creator, but alongside this, there are many gods and goddesses. This creator, as I previously mentioned in my article on Source-Energy, is the creative power from which everything originates. This concept exists in all known belief systems. Therefore, it can be understood that these beliefs have a pantheon; they are polytheistic. The presence of many gods from a single power does not make any belief system monotheistic. Because, to the other gods, there are also activities such as sacrifices, worship, and prayers.

The God of Ancient Times, the Devil of Modern Times

We mentioned Tengriism... For example, here, the ruler of the underworld is Erlik, the protector of the mountains is Adagan, the goddess of fertility is Umay Ana, the goddess of beauty is Ayzıt Hanım... All of these have specific functions. One of the most worshiped of them is Erlik Han. Black shamans, and the Buryat people as a society, have worshiped him the most. Offerings have been made to Him, and services have been provided. Here is the god of ancient times, the devil of modern times: Erlik Han.

ree

In Scandinavian Paganism, there is Loki... However, he is the god of cunning. He is a god who can subtly establish his dominion over all the other gods, gaining knowledge before them. He has also been the subject of worship activities at various times. The god of ancient times, the devil of modern times: Loki.

ree

In Ancient Greece, Pan was the god of the fields and shepherds. Sometimes, he would join human festivities filled with wine and sensuality, while at other times, he would emit a great scream to frighten his enemies, causing them to flee. The word “panic” in common language originates from this. Such was his power that it is said he displayed this ability during a battle between the Greeks and the Persians, leading to their retreat. As a result, a temple was built in his honor on the Acropolis hill in Athens. Thus, Pan, the god of ancient times, became the devil of modern times.

It is possible to provide many similar examples. As can be understood, the entity called "Satan," or rather the being that was later demonized, was initially a god. Over time, with the emergence of monotheistic beliefs, two opposing poles were created, and the entity we are focusing on became the representation of evil. But why did this being become a malevolent force? What were the fundamental reasons behind this transformation? These questions also need to be explored.

From all this, it is evident that the history of Satan is ancient, and the figure that Satanists believe in is not baseless.

So, when exactly did this being come to be specifically referred to as "Satan," and when did Satanism emerge as a distinct belief system? Let's discuss this further...

The early days of the Church's dominance in Scandinavia... When the Church sought to dismantle Norse Paganism and assert its authority as much as possible, it demonized the old gods and goddesses of the people. However, the Church made a critical mistake. It did not deny the power of these deities; instead, it acknowledged that they could still demonstrate their strength in their respective domains when the time and place were right. This inadvertently exposed the notion that these beings still operated as if they were gods.

This situation puzzled certain segments of the population who struggled to adapt to this newer belief system. It led them to think, "Even if they are not gods, they are as powerful as gods," and prompted them to abandon the new deity they could not embrace. Instead, they returned to their old gods and goddesses—not necessarily seeing them as deities but still revering them in some form.

From this point onward, these beings came to be referred to as "demons."

Demons

The word "demon" originates from the term "daimon," which was frequently used by philosophers such as Plato and Socrates. In Ancient Greece, the word "daimon" was employed in three primary contexts:

  1. Forms of thought

  2. The inner voice of a person

  3. Exalted beings, spirits, or energy forms that aid human development

To elaborate on these meanings:

  • The first refers to forms/entities that are invisible to humans yet move in harmony with them, essentially creations born from an individual's intense emotions and thoughts.

  • The second signifies the inner voice or conscience of a person.

  • The third describes entities that operate with their own will and consciousness, each possessing distinct areas of interest and unique attributes.

The third meaning is the one most relevant to the topic at hand.

As seen, in ancient times, "daimons" were highly respected, wise beings. However, due to the influence of the Church and similar institutions, they were eventually cast into the role of malevolent entities. Each had their own traits and areas of expertise, aiding humanity in various ways. But the Abrahamic religions defamed these beings, as they posed a challenge to their narrative. Worship, offerings, and every moment of life were expected to revolve around the singular God, who was to be exalted above all else. Thus, these beings were swiftly vilified and portrayed as evil to the people. If possible, they were even to be imprisoned. Indeed, those who sought to strip these entities of their influence attempted to render them powerless by capturing them, often with the help of the gods they served. In some cases, they were even eradicated on the physical plane.

Let’s begin with an example of their imprisonment: King Solomon of Israel…

Solomon, being the son of David—a prophet—was a man of great wisdom. Although not universally accepted as such, he was also a magician. In time, Solomon became a prophet himself and ruled over Israel. As a magician, he forcibly summoned demons and extracted knowledge from them. Of course, he did not achieve all this on his own. He accomplished these feats with the aid of the god he served, whose strength he continually drew upon. (The dominion of gods is quite simple: the more worship and energy exchange a god receives in a region, the more powerful they become.) By constantly receiving support from his god, Solomon fortified his own abilities. The period during Solomon's rule was also when the demonization of these entities reached its peak. However, contrary to exaggerations, he did not imprison ancient gods and goddesses for long periods. He only established brief communications with them, and any imprisonment occurred only during these interactions. This is evident in Solomon's writings, where it is clear that such imprisonments were temporary.

The entities Solomon held captive for extended periods were of lower energy forms. These beings were less powerful but were still referred to as "demons."

Now, regarding the physical destruction of some beings I mentioned earlier—how could this happen, and what is the truth behind it? Let us explore this aspect, using an example from a not-so-distant land: the goddess of Ancient Arabia, the most revered deity of the Arabs, Al-Uzza!

ree

Uzza was one of the three greatest goddesses of the Arabs in her time and was considered one of the daughters of El-Ilah. Known as the goddess of fertility, her spiritual center was a statue located next to a tree in Nahla, in the Hijaz region of modern-day Saudi Arabia. The Ghatfan tribe was the most devoted to Uzza. The tribe’s earliest priest of Uzza was Sayreme from the Murreoğulları lineage, while its last priest was Dubayya bin Harmes-Salami. After the Muslims conquered Mecca, the Islamic prophet Muhammad tasked Khalid ibn al-Walid with destroying the temple of Uzza. The account of Uzza’s demise, as described in Islamic sources, is as follows:

When Khalid arrived at the temple, he encountered a naked woman attempting to stop him. Her hair was disheveled, her hands were placed on the back of her neck, and she bared her teeth. Behind her stood Dubayya bin Harmes-Salami, who addressed Khalid, saying:

“O Uzza! Do not disappoint us; attack Khalid with all your might. Let go of the covering and roll up your sleeves, for if you do not kill Khalid today, you will return in disgrace and become Christian.”

Khalid responded:

“O Uzza, woe to you! You deserve no exaltation. I see that Allah has humiliated you.”

He then struck her head with his sword, killing her, and subsequently cut down the tree and killed Dubayya as well. Khalid later reported back to the Prophet Muhammad, who said:

“That was Uzza. From now on, the Arabs shall have no Uzza.”

First and foremost, it is crucial to understand that the Arabs of that era did not worship mere lifeless idols but instead revered actual entities. This is evident in Islamic sources, such as the writings of Elmalılı. What we clearly observe here is the physical death of a goddess on this plane of existence. However, there is an important point to clarify: no god or goddess truly dies; rather, their connection or source in the relevant plane is severed, rendering them passive in that realm. This is effectively their "death" in that particular dimension.

In short, one of the mistakes Islam made was acknowledging the existence of these beings (often referred to as demons). Even in the Qur'an, their names are mentioned. Ignoring the existence of such powerful entities would be nearly impossible. Numerous other examples could be cited to support this, but there is another question that a thoughtful mind should ponder: Where does Satan fit among those imprisoned or destroyed?

As we can deduce, Satan is more powerful than all these entities. In fact, Satan is even stronger than most assume. He is a truly pivotal figure, an undeniable and irrefutable force. Consider this: Solomon ruled over so many entities, yet why was he unable to dominate Satan? If you ask his followers, they would say, “Satan was granted time until the Day of Judgment.”

Yes, the God said to be loving and merciful supposedly leaves humanity at the mercy of Satan, allowing them to be led astray. Strange, isn’t it? At the very least, if Satan had been subdued, even briefly, there wouldn’t be a need for me to write about his immense power today. It wouldn’t even be necessary.

Without straying further from the topic, let’s move on to the schools within Satanism...

LaVeyan Satanism

LaVeyan Satanism is the most well-known school under the umbrella of Satanism. Its prominence stems from its founder, Anton Szandor LaVey, a highly charismatic individual who left a lasting impact on many. Unsurprisingly, numerous extraordinary stories continue to circulate about him. For instance, one claim suggests that LaVey’s grandmother was a Transylvanian Romani witch who introduced him to the path of darkness. However, this is untrue. His grandmother was not from Transylvania but of Ukrainian descent, named Cecile Luba Primokov-Coulton. Furthermore, witchcraft has no connection with Romani heritage, nor was anyone in his family a witch or of Romani origin.

LaVey entered this path entirely through his own reasoning and intellect. He was a highly intelligent and multifaceted individual, excelling in various fields. For instance, he was a professional organist, an appreciator of art and music, and a passionate animal lover. Most notably, he was the founder of the world’s first Church of Satan.

Another fabricated story about LaVey claims that he shaved his head during a Walpurgis Night (April 30, 1966) ceremony, where he was supposedly ordained as Satan’s high priest, allegedly with the participation of a Yazidi cleric. The truth, however, is far less sensational. During the summer of 1966, Diana (his partner) insisted that LaVey needed a more charismatic appearance as the High Priest of Satan and suggested a new image. She herself cut his hair, marking a shift in his persona.

As evident, no Yazidi cleric or ritual was involved in this event. Such myths merely add to the mystique surrounding LaVey but are not grounded in reality.

ree

LaVeyan Satanism is fundamentally a philosophy that views Satan as a symbol, not a deity. Through exalting Satan, it promotes the exaltation of the individual. All rituals and practices within this system aim to awaken the "Satan within" each person, which means bringing subconscious and unconscious aspects of oneself to the surface. This approach is entirely philosophical rather than spiritual.

LaVey's self-proclaimed title of High Priest was just that—a title he gave himself, not one derived from divine selection or an external authority. Furthermore, LaVeyan Satanism includes several guiding principles established by LaVey, such as the 9 Satanic Statements, 21 Satanic Rules of the Earth, 11 Satanic Rules, and the 9 Satanic Sins.

The 9 Satanic Statements

  1. Satan advocates indulgence instead of abstinence.Satan encourages the pursuit of desires rather than suppressing them.

9 Satanic Sins

  1. Stupidity:

    • The gravest sin. A Satanist must avoid stupidity as it leads to ignorance, manipulation, and blind faith. Recognizing traps and using intelligence is crucial.

  2. Pretentiousness:

    • Empty showiness and boasting are detestable. True accomplishments should speak for themselves without unnecessary flamboyance.

  3. Solipsism:

    • Assuming everyone shares your values, thoughts, or reactions is dangerous. Treat others based on their actions towards you, not as you would treat yourself.

  4. Self-Deceit:

    • Accepting comforting lies or sacred cows blinds you to reality. Self-awareness is critical in maintaining control over your decisions and actions.

  5. Herd Mentality:

    • Following the crowd strips individuality. While societal norms can sometimes serve a purpose, blindly conforming leads to mediocrity and servitude.

  6. Lack of Perspective:

    • Always maintain a broad understanding of historical, cultural, and social contexts. Seeing the bigger picture allows for strategic action and personal growth.

  7. Forgetfulness of Past Orthodoxies:

    • Accepting rebranded ideas as "new" without critical thinking reflects a lack of discernment. Understand the roots of concepts before embracing them.

  8. Counterproductive Pride:

    • Pride is valuable when it empowers but harmful when it obstructs progress. Know when to apologize or adapt without losing sight of your goals.

  9. Aesthetic Ignorance:

    • Recognizing and valuing beauty, whether universal or personal, is essential. Aesthetic awareness reflects one's appreciation of individuality and creativity.

Devil-Worship

This school of thought is, essentially and generally speaking, a group of individuals who lack understanding, devote themselves to committing acts considered sinful by Abrahamic religions, and worship or glorify the Abrahamic concept of Satan. It can be summarized as follows:

  • Superficial Imitation:Devil-worship consists of a handful of imitators who either idolize the Abrahamic Satan or lack true knowledge of what Satanism represents.

  • Centered on Sin:Their primary focus is on committing acts labeled as sins by Abrahamic doctrines, which shows a shallow and reactionary approach rather than a deeper philosophical or spiritual understanding.

  • Ideological in Nature:It is less a genuine belief system and more an ideological stance rooted in opposition to Abrahamic values.

  • Satan as a Leader, Not a God:They do not view Satan as a deity but as a leader or figurehead.

  • Source of Misconceptions About Satanism:The actions and superficial beliefs of this group have fueled societal prejudices and misconceptions about Satanism, making it synonymous with malevolence or thoughtless rebellion in the public eye.

In conclusion, devil-worship is not an essential component of Satanism and does not warrant much attention or consideration within the broader philosophical framework.

Antisemitic Satanism/National Socialist Satanism

This group, also referred to as "Spiritual Satanists," identifies their ideology as "Spiritual Satanism." The core of their belief system reveals a strong anti-Semitic sentiment and a worldview rooted in extreme conspiracy theories. Key aspects of this group include:

Core Beliefs and Practices

  1. Intense Anti-Semitism:As the name implies, the group harbors extreme hatred toward Jews. Many of their rituals and magical practices are specifically designed to harm Jewish individuals or communities.

  2. Conspiracy Theories about Jews:Members believe that Jews are not human but rather alien hybrids — specifically Reptilian entities. They claim these beings secretly dominate the world and manipulate humanity through vast networks of control and influence.

  3. Conflict Between Gods and Reptilians:

    • They assert that ancient gods and goddesses (whom they worship) are locked in an eternal battle against the ancestors of these so-called Reptilian hybrids.

    • These gods and goddesses are said to stand alongside humanity, defending it from the malevolent influence of the Reptilians.

  4. Organization and Influence:Despite their niche ideology, the group is well-organized and has a notable number of followers spread across various countries.

  5. Leadership:The group’s spiritual leader is High Priestess Maxine Deitrich, who serves as a central figure in propagating their beliefs and coordinating their activities.

Belief in Satan and the Ancient Gods

  • They view Satan as the leader of the ancient gods and goddesses, who are described as immortal, physical, human-like beings.

  • For them, these ancient deities are the true creators of humanity, standing in direct opposition to the Reptilian overlords.

Religious Texts

  • The group reveres "Al-Jilwah," a Yezidi text, as a significant spiritual document, considering it Satan's final revelation.

  • Although they believe this book has lost its divine authority over time, it retains importance as a historical artifact connected to Satan.

Summary

Antisemitic Satanism is deeply entrenched in xenophobic conspiracy theories and mythological reinterpretations aimed at vilifying Jews while glorifying their perceived ancient gods. Their ideology blends spiritual practices with political and racial hatred, making it a toxic and controversial subset of Satanism.

Elect Satansism

Essentially, I am the one who gave this school of thought its name, because while some followers (the majority) call themselves “Spiritual Satanists” (a term also used by the anti-Semitic school), others simply call themselves “Satanists.” The most appropriate term would be “Elite,” as followers of this tradition refer to themselves as “the chosen.” This term appears frequently in the Ayetler Kİtabı, with its most defining mention in Verse 17/II.

This group consists of Satanists who accept the three well-known books in the country: Gerçekler Kitabı, Ayetler Kitabı, and İsa Kitabı. Gerçekler Kitabı; discusses topics such as the awakening/revival process of the world, the structure of the gods, and the creation of humanity. Ayetler Kitabı; primarily explains satanic rules, rituals, and their applications. Isa Kitabı; narrates the era of Jesus, his formation process, and the events that befell him (this book was revealed later than the other two). Their most recent prophet/seer is Bülent Kısa (I mentioned Bülent Kısa in my article Kblan Tragna). The religious hierarchy within this school is structured as follows:Prophet > High Priest > High Priestess > Priest/Priestess > Leader

Roles and Hierarchy

  • Prophet/Seer: The highest-ranking individual, with no superior authority. If a book is to be revealed, it is delivered solely to this person. There is only one prophet in each era.

  • High Black Priest: The second-highest authority after the prophet. If there is no prophet alive during a given period, all knowledge is transmitted to this individual; however, revelations of books are not granted to them.

  • High Black Priestess: The next in line after the High Black Priest, with the same authority but a lower status.

Note: The reason the High Priestess follows the High Priest in rank is entirely due to the psychological structure of contemporary human society. In past periods (e.g., the Inquisition), female leaders were directly tried and executed, so for the safety of women, this hierarchy was established by Satan. Realistically, women today still hold a passive status. For the sake of equality, an entire structure cannot be led to ruin. Otherwise, the High Priestess possesses the same powers as the High Priest, differing only in status due to societal constraints (which are in themselves issues). As Satan stated (see Book of Verses 39/III), he does not differentiate between men and women.

  • Leaders: One person is elected annually in each coven by its members. They can be re-elected for one additional term.

Important Distinctions

The Prophet, High Priest, and High Priestess are personally chosen by Satan, and their duties are lifelong. Priests and Priestesses, on the other hand, are those who establish covens, and their roles are also lifelong. The distinction lies in the fact that while High Priests and Priestesses are chosen figures, Priests and Priestesses are not—they gain their titles by founding covens. However, the High Priest and High Priestess have authority over all covens. Conversely, a Priest or Priestess’s influence does not extend to other covens.

As for Leaders, they are elected by the members of their covens and serve for a limited time.

Coven

The term "coven" essentially means "witch council." In this sect, covens consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 13 members. These covens generally operate in secrecy.

As you can understand from all that I have explained, Satanism fundamentally divides into three groups: those who believe in Satan symbolically, those who believe spiritually, and those who view him not as a god but as a leader. Regardless of these differences, the core purpose of each group is to elevate humanity, enabling individuals to liberate themselves. This freedom primarily pertains to spiritual and intellectual liberation.
